First Hell’s Kitchen lost Duff’s, then Siberia, and now it’s with great sadness that we hear from Jeremiah’s Vanishing that one of our top five dive bars, and indeed a beloved New York institution, the Holland Bar, has closed. In recently recommending the bar, Tony Bourdain said that since the shuttering of Siberia, he has been “living a bleak, friendless and flatlined existence, slowly slipping into senility and death.” Let’s hope this latest hit doesn’t mean the same for the city.
