Zima Zombies in Chinatown; Nam Wah Back From Grave

It was hard enough to find Zima in a bar before it was taken off the market, so we were truly astounded this weekend to see the Z proudly resisting its demise at Galaxy Karaoke at 45 Mott Street. Okay, so we weren’t that surprised — elsewhere in Chinatown, Tropical Billiards stocks a respectable selection of Bartles & Jaymes wine coolers, and if you’re a karaoke parlor that traffics in forgotten songs like “Nothing Compares 2 U,” why not have anachronistic bevvies to match? Either way, if you want one last hit of the Z, this is your place ($50 for a room for five for one hour, including drinks; 212-693-1888). Meanwhile, in other Chinatown news, Lost City is reporting that Nam Wah Tea Parlor has reopened after an extended DOH shuttering. Let’s hope it stays open and, unlike Zima, lives to see its 100th anniversary.
