The vultures at Eater are circling over a couple of West Siders today — Archipelago, the Japanese-French newcomer that replaced Dani, is kaput as of Monday. And a bartender at Devin Tavern blogs that she was given “official” word that the place will close: “The plummeting stock market and financial woes of the banks (whose employees make up the majority of our clientele) just killed it.” As of now, the sprawling restaurant, which was fairly empty last time we visited, is still open and taking reservations — a manager told us she didn’t know of any plan to close.
