In October we reported a rumor that Ghenet was being pushed out of its space, and though the veteran Ethiopian restaurant is still open for business, we’ve received confirmation that it may not have long for this world, via a listing from broker James Famularo: “284 Mulberry Street between Houston & Prince Street. Currently Ethiopian restaurant with full beer & wine license. 30 ft of frontage! Rare opportunity to lease a prime a 1500 sq ft fully operational vented restaurant with storage basement – NO KEY MONEY!” Asking price: $15,625 per month. Ghenet also has a Brooklyn location, but depending on how this plays out, Nolita residents may have to walk up to Meskel for doro wat.
