We bumped into the one and only Florent Morellet at last night’s Community Board 4 meeting (he was there to show support for the proposed Eighth Avenue bike lane). He told us he’s enrolled in memoir-writing classes, and joked that it’s not as easy as writing “Once upon a time I opened a restaurant.” And then there’s this: He’s speaking with a consultant about a possible new venture in the restaurant industry. No clear-cut details are set and no major decisions have been made, but he told us he’s been toying with the idea of a “next-generation Florent.” Oh, the possibilities!
