Bánh Mì Buzz: Good News for Manhattan and Brooklyn Alike

12/16/08 at 5:50 PM

An Choi, a restaurant with a décor and a menu inspired by Vietnamese street food, will open in the Lower East Side early next year. Owner Tuan Bui, who last worked in the industry as a bar host at Pastis, tells us the focus will be on authentic pho, and — the really exciting part — the báhn mì will incorporate house-made charcuterie. More as the place gets closer to opening. Meanwhile, across the bridge, Gowanus Lounge is excited that Jonathan Lethem’s favorite báhn mì spot, Hanco’s, is coming to Park Slope.
