There’s a diner in the back of Chinatown bakery Hon Cafe, and Serious Eater Robyn Lee tried her luck ordering what turned out to be an extremely juicy Garlic Burger “made with beef, pork, sugar, soy sauce, garlic, and onions.” The patty was different, but the bun was illuminating enough to inspire a plea for imitation. “[S]oft, squishy, a bit chewy, and impervious to the effects of dripping meat juices,” rhapsodized Lee. “Dear restaurants serving burgers: source your buns from a Chinese bakery.” [A Hamburger Today]
