The Department of Health might be a little slow on the draw these days, but that hasn’t stopped it from shuttering Socialista. A note on the door says the club was closed yesterday. According to the DOH’s Website, a December 13 inspection found that the club wasn’t displaying “No Smoking” signs conspicuously, though it’s hard to believe this is the reason for the shuttering — let’s remember that Socialista is located on the bottom floor of the Jane Street Hotel, whose residents have been complaining about a rat infestation, among other things. It won’t be a shock if we find out these are related.
