Where Can You Throw a $500 Holiday Party?

12/22/08 at 2:03 PM

New York Times scribe Allen Salkin is used to making magic happen in small places (you’ll recall he got Ferran Adrià to cook in his apartment), so it’s no surprise that given $500 by his publisher to throw a party for the paperback publication of his book, Festivus, he would throw it at Bamn!, the automat. He plans to distribute free tokens to guests (sorry, invitation only) so they can nosh on grilled-cheese sandwiches and the like. Hey, it ain’t oysters at the Rainbow Room, but the view of St. Marks ain’t so bad.
