Rusty Knot Serves Less, Later

Rusty Knot Serves Less, Later

Not surprisingly given his involvement in Wilfie & Nell, we hear that Joaquin Baca and the Rusty Knot quietly parted ways some months ago (asked for comment, Ken Friedman neither confirmed nor denied). We recently stopped into Baca’s new home and found it packed — not so much at the Rusty Knot, which of course doesn’t have the most central, winter-friendly location. Rest assured, the Christmas decorations and hot drinks at the Knot (especially the eggnog-like Tom & Jerry) are worth braving the Hudson River winds for, but we were bummed to see that Baca’s excellent chicken-liver-and-bacon sandwich is indeed off the menu, per Friedman and Somer’s earlier warnings. As are a lot of other things. Here’s a look at the current food offerings — the good news is that the mini po boys made the cut and food is now being served until 3 a.m.

Update: Confirmed In at the Rusty Knot: Tony Citino of Brown

Pickled egg $1
Pickle $2
Oyster $3
Pretzel dog $4
Iceberg wedge $7
Herb potato wedges $8
Turkey pilgrim $11
Pulled-pork sandwich $11
Mini po boys $12
Warm cookies $3

We can only beg Baca to bring that bacon-and-liver sandwich back at Wilfie & Nell.
