A New Name for Buddha Bar; Culinary Giant Gaston Lenôtre Dies

• Today in trademark-infringement lawsuits: A state appeals court has ruled that Buddha Bar must change its name, as it is no longer affiliated with Buddha Bar Worldwide. No word yet on what the new name might be. [NYP]

• Gaston Lenôtre, founder of the Lenôtre empire of restaurants, retail shops, and a cooking school, has passed away at 88. Among those trained by Lenôtre are David Bouley and Michel Richard. [NYT]
