Fiamma Closes Doors
1/14/09 at 11:53 AM
Steve Hanson has closed Fiamma, Eater reports. The building will become an event space, but Fabio Trabocchi will move on. "When Trabocchi’s complicated recipes are good, they’re very good. When they fail, they tend to fail in a fussy, overcomplicated way," wrote Adam Platt in his two-star review of Fiamma in 2007.
Update: Owner Steve Hanson has also closed the Ruby Foo's on Broadway and 77th and a restaurant in Chicago. He called the Wall Street meltdown "devastating to business."
