If you’re the dinner-and-a-movie type with inexplicably disposable income, we’ve got the ridiculous food event for you. On Friday night at Per Se, watch Babette’s Feast and then eat Babette’s feast. The menu includes green-turtle soup paired with Amontillado; blinis demidoff paired with Veuve Cliquot; and, our favorite, “Cailles en Sarcophage” tender quail stuffed with foie gras and encased in a puff-pastry shell over a pool of black truffles, paired with vintage Clos de Vougeot. All this for only $3,500 a seat, or $6,000 a couple! A portion of the fee is tax-deductible, as the dinner benefits the Alloy Theater. There are only three seats left, and Maxine Linehan, the Alloy’s artistic director, expects them to be sold today. So act now, and join nineteen other diners (including Martha Stewart) in a private room. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvre are at 6 p.m., the screening at 6:45 p.m.; and dinner’s at 8. E-mail the Alloy or call 917-319-8109 to snag a spot. [Via Tasting Table]
