Long Island City Is Still Waiting for Dutch Kills

Speaking of Sasha Petraske — you’ll recall that his Long Island City saloon, Dutch Kills, was poised to open last month, and yet a Friday-night spot check found the place closed. According to the State Liquor Authority’s website, its license is still pending, despite the fact that Petraske and partner Richard Boccato applied for it in December of 2007. On Friday, there was still a Department of Buildings job permit on the window, and there’s no certificate of occupancy on the DOB’s website. According to LICNYC, even Sage (the bar’s food provider) has no idea when it will open. Soon, we continue to hope.
