On Serious Eats today, Bobby Flay touts some favorite local spots: Morandi’s brunch, Balthazar’s and Momofuku Ssäm’s late-night menus, JG Melon’s burger, and the ice-cream sundae at Shake Shack. The one thing he won’t eat? “Brains.”

A First Look at PDT's Spring Cocktail Menu, Launching Tonight
The Wylie Dufresne wiener isn't the only thing new at PDT: Starting tonight they’ll unveil a sherry-spiked Negroni tribute named after Dufresne’s dad, Dewey. Indeed the entire spring cocktail menu will debut, and we’re the first to get our trembling hands on it.
‘Food & Wine’ Big-Ups New York on Best-Restaurants List
New York may have gotten short shrift on San Pallegrino’s list of the world’s best restaurants, but on Food & Wine’s just-released "Go List" of the World’s Best Places to Eat, we rank third, behind Tokyo and Paris. TAKE THAT, VANCOUVER! Curiously, no New York eateries made the lists of Best New Restaurants (these lists apply to 2007, so Ko didn’t qualify) or Best Restaurants for Carnivores (Kobe Club must be crushed), but here are the locals that did make the top-ten lists.
Psychic Predicts Atomic Bomb, Momofuku's Survival
The latest Urban Daddy newsletter is hitting in-boxes right about now, and today's edition features an interview with noted psychic Judi Hoffman. Amidst her predictions about the fate of Eliot Spitzer, Steve Jobs's next invention, and the direction of the real-estate market, she also takes a moment to play Gastrodamus:
UD: What about the [forecast for the] LES?
JH: It's way too oversaturated, and the unlabeled restaurants thing is going to be over, the kind where you need the phone number or a psychic to find the place. Everything I say about restaurants, though, doesn't apply to Momofuku. I love Momofuku. After the atomic bomb, all that will be left will be cockroaches and Momofuku.
And even then, you still won't get a reservation at Ko.
Todd Barry Not the Only One Who Worships at the Altar of Chipotle

“I tried to get a job at Chipotle when I got back from Japan, but they wouldn’t hire me,” he says. “They knew what I was up to.” It’s easy to see the parallels between Ssäm Bar and the Tex-Mex monolith that’s invaded Manhattan. “A lot of this is premised on what Chipotle’s done: Make affordable, good food, and do it with integrity.”
We've noted that Bobby Flay is also possibly a fan of Chipotle (indeed Bret Thorn overheard him calling it "good food"). And we're sure Chang and Flay aren't the only ones. So when will Chipotle’s founder, Steve Ells, finally be nominated for a Beard Award?
