About a year ago, when Midtown Lunch published a minute-by-minute account of Mohammed Rahman’s sixteen-hour day at his Kwik Meal cart, the blog said Rahman, formerly a cook at the Russian Tea Room, would never go back to working at a restaurant. Imagine ML’s surprise, then, when it discovered that Rahman, shortly after taking his cart fleet from three to two, has taken control of Presidential Pizza, of all places, on 125th Street in Harlem. “He claims the pastas are amazing,” reports Midtown Lunch, “and plans on eventually adding his famous lamb over rice to the menu.” Midtowners can rest assured he’ll be back at the Kwik Meal when things calm down at the restaurant.
