What’s the best meal you’ve eaten in New York?
A meal I cooked in one of my hotel suites. I made a great meal for me and my
crew.

In one sentence, what do you actually do all day in your job?
I try to touch people.

Where do you get your coffee?
At home. I drink Folgers.

What’s the last thing you saw on Broadway?
The Color Purple when it first came to Broadway.

Do you give money to panhandlers?
Yes, money, and food too.

What’s your drink?
Martinelli apple juice.

How often do you prepare your own meals?
About seven times a month, unless there is a kitchen while I’m on the road.

What’s your favorite medication?
Glucophage and insulin.

What’s hanging above your sofa?
A painting of kids looking at the sun reaching for the sky. It’s by a painter named Pat Richardson. The name of the painting is Our Children Our Resting. I call it Children Looking Up. It’s a very positive piece.

How much is too much to spend on a haircut?
$10.

When’s bedtime?
5 a.m. unless I’m on vacation or have a lot of time. Then it’s 9 p.m.

Con. I’m not a brunch girl.

What do you hate most about living in New York?
I don’t live in New York, but when I visit, I dislike sitting in traffic. But I love to see all the people.

What’s your brand of jeans?
None of them fit me. There are always too many pockets on the butt or the front. I do have one pair of jeans that fits me. They were made by a designer named Monika. They are called Án for Me.

When’s the last time you drove a car?
It was about 40 years ago, before I got married. My boyfriend at the time, Armstead, was teaching me to drive in his Thunderbird. I drove it into a tree.

Who should be the next president?
Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are both great choices. I think both of them are capable of doing a great job. I trust the both of them.
