The Devil Made Him Do It

Grouchypants Edward Cardinal Egan tried his best to avoid the throng of Catholics protesting the closing of Our Lady Queen of Angels, an East Harlem church, yesterday after Mass. His Eminence nearly managed to escape reporters, too, until he was cornered by someone from the Daily News. "Oh, for heaven's sake," he said exasperatedly, in response to her questions. Wait a second. In Christian, isn't "for heaven's sake" kind of a swear? We checked into it, and turns out it sure as hell is! "Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne, nor by the earth; for it is his footstool," the "Christian Cursing" page on BibleBelievers.com tells us. Looks like someone's got a few Hail Marys to say today.
