Boss Alleges Personal Assistant Stole $200k

11/30/07 at 2:15 PM

Fatima Monahan, the personal assistant who filed a $24 million, totally embarrassing sexual-harassment suit against her boss, Caxton-Iseman managing partner Frederick Iseman, last spring, has now been indicted for stealing from said boss. Iseman alleges that during the time she worked for him, Monahan racked up as much as $50,000 worth of personal charges on his AmEx and stole $150,000 worth of checks from him. Meh. Back in April, Monahan filed a way more entertaining complaint against him, claiming that her responsibilities at the private-equity firm included but were not limited to purchasing lubricant, edible underwear, and a book called The Mammoth Book of Women's Erotic Fantasies for Iseman; organizing his porn collection; and setting up "dates" for him, or, as she charmingly put it, being his "pussy coordinator." Iseman's lawyer claims that the suit was a ploy to disguise the fact that she was fired for theft. "When the evidence comes out it will be clear to everyone that Fatima did absolutely nothing wrong," says Monahan's lawyer. Is it wrong that we eagerly anticipate the day when The Mammoth Book of Women's Erotic Fantasies is introduced as evidence? Actually, don't answer that.

Update 8/20/08: Monahan admitted in court to using Iseman's credit card and pleaded guilty to stealing over $45,000 from him. She was ordered to pay that amount in restitution. [NYS]

Update 9/23/08: Monahan dropped her civil suit and admitted that her allegations were "entirely untrue." [NYT]
