He looked a little younger and thinner, but the man chatting with a guy at the other end of the bar was definitely Nate from Gossip Girl's dad. "I guess he's out of the hospital," we said. Not wanting to stare, we turned our attention toward a couple nearby where the girl was quietly sobbing. Several moments passed, and our friend nudged us. "The Captain is staring at you," she said. We glanced casually over. It was true. He was staring directly at us. We looked away, quickly. "Weird," we said. A minute passed. We looked over again, casually fixing our gaze on a point directly above The Captain's head. He was still looking at us. Five minutes more. Still looking. Practically craning his head. "It's almost like he thinks he knows us," we said to our friend. "Do you think The Captain is on Facebook?" "I think he loves you," our friend said. "You should talk to him. Ask him what's going to happen with Rufus and Lily." "Okay," we said, emboldened by alcohol. We stood and began making our way unsteadily across the room. Halfway there, we glanced back at our friend for support, which was when we noticed: Sitting directly behind her, clearly visible now that we had left our seat, was Christy Turlington.
