As we type, the block of Greene Street between Broome and Grand is closed off by fire trucks. There is a fire, now partially contained, on the second and third floors of the three-story structure (the former Particular Iron Works building). Nobody is still inside the building and no one was hurt, but if you're in Soho and wondering what all the hullabaloo is, there's your explanation.
