Lady Liberty Gets a Bindi

  • 5/2/08 at 5:05 PM
It looks like Lady Liberty is the latest victim of Photoshopping. In an advertisement for Jet Airways outside Penn Station, the Statue of Liberty is shown sporting a bindi on her forehead. It was only a matter of time, really. As Animal New York points out, she’s already wearing a sari. The company proclaims itself to be “India’s finest international airline,” with over 380 flights daily across 43 destinations within India. But despite their promise that “India just got closer,” there’s no getting past the fact that India is still at least a fourteen-hour flight from New York. If we’re being realistic here, we should put an Ambien pill on her head. —Noelle Hancock
