The Waterfalls Are Upon Us

6/26/08 at 2:15 PM

Isn't it pretty? Above is one of four giant waterfall sculptures scattered across the city's waterways. You've been hearing about them for months ("They're the new Gates!" "They're going to bring $55 million in tourist dollars!"), now it's time to go see them. They started spouting today. The Circle Line is offering tours, for 30 and 60 minutes at $10 and $25 respectively. You can also find more information at nycwaterfalls.org. Or you can read Michael Joseph Gross's interview in New York with sculptor Olafur Eliasson.
