Guess Who Wrote the ‘Times’ Story About People Getting Married at 8 P.M. on 8/8/08

  • 8/4/08 at 10:30 AM
Jennifer 8. Lee

Well-loved Times scribe Jenny 8. Lee gave herself a numeric moniker in high school because she wanted a middle name, and because the eight is a lucky number in Chinese culture. Readers of the Gray Lady have become used to the unusual byline over the years, but this particular story — about Chinese couples planning to marry at 8 p.m. on August 8 for maximum good fortune — really jumped out at us. Isn't this a conflict of interest or something?
