Kevin Powell — the MTV Real World vet and former Vibe writer — is running for a Brooklyn congressional seat, hoping to unseat the thirteen-term incumbent, Ed Towns. But he realizes he's lacking a First Lady for the tenth district. "I'm married to my campaign," he said at Vibe's fifteenth-anniversary party, on August 12. "That's the only thing I'm dating right now." Not that he doesn't have a dream girl. "Anika Noni Rose is beautiful," he said. "I hope she's here tonight," Powell continued. "I've got a crush on her. Put that out there." The Dreamgirls star recently ended her run in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof on Broadway. "I'd make a nice escort to the Academy Awards," he said. "Please quote me on that."
