Paris Hilton Wins Political Ad Battle

8/6/08 at 8:45 AM

Less than a week after John McCain released his childish "Celeb" ad, which mocked rival Barack Obama for being a "celebrity" like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, the young Ms. Hilton has issued her response. With the help of the comedians at Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, and Chris Henchy's Website "Funny or Die," Paris produced her own presidential campaign ad. In it, she suggests a national energy plan that combines elements of both Obama and McCain's planned approaches to solving the crisis. (McCain's camp responded by saying, "Perhaps the reality is that Paris has a more substantive energy plan than Barack Obama." Hey guys, this isn't your joke — this is a joke at your expense.) The video also compares McCain to Colonel Sanders, Yoda, and the zombie who hosts Tales From the Crypt. After decades of making TV shows, movies, and home videos that did anything but make us laugh, we were surprised to find ourselves guffawing with Paris — before 8 a.m. no less.

All is forgiven, Paris. All is forgiven.
