Spike Lee to Expand in Brooklyn?

Spike Lee continues to do (the right thing) by his borough. The filmmaker, who grew up in the borough and recently swapped one Fort Greene headquarters for another when his original space on DeKalb Street was put on the market for $6 million (and just price-chopped to $4.9 million), is said to be opening an annex of 40 Acres and a Mule, his production company, in Dumbo. Lee — described by one source as "very pleasant" — has been seen spotted in the neighborhood this summer checking out a sprawling space at 55 Washington Street; it's now no longer available for leasing, so it looks like a deal has been struck.
