Poor Leveraged Sellout blogger Amit Chatwani. He got kind of screwed, the Times points out today. His book, Damn It Feels Good to Be a Banker, a tongue-in-cheek guide to the realm of young, blinging investment bankers, was published in August, at what might be the exact worst moment, since, well, there aren't really investment banks anymore, and as Judith Warner observed some weeks ago, things are so scary right now, it's hard for any of us to gin up the enthusiasm to revel in the fact that a bunch of Wall Street creeps got their just desserts . Even Amit kind of feels bad, and has been trying to provide comfort to his friends in the financial sector. Who are decidedly not screwed, by the way.

One of the most trying aspects for them, Mr. Chatwani explained, was the loss of “perceived prestige” with women. “A lot of my dude friends when they meet a girl in a bar, they’ve stopped talking for once about what they do,” he said. “If you tell a girl you work at an investment bank, that gets you a sympathetic pat on the back. That’s not the response you’re looking for.”

Ahahahahhahahahha! What's the matter, dudes? Pity-sex not good enough for you? HA!

We think at last we might be starting to feel the Schadenfreude.
