Paterson: Projected State Budget Deficit Has Grown to $12 Billion

In August, the governor's office projected that the deficit for 2009–2010 would be $6.4 billion dollars. With all of the financial turmoil since then, it will announce today that the figure has now doubled. That beats even the previous record of $11.2 billion the state faced after September 11, 2001.
