You’d like to think that the air in Astoria is redolent of moussaka and pastitsio. But sadly, a bunch of residents say that the longtime, on-again, off-again smell from the Bowery Bay sewage facility is hitting a record high, and they’re finding vivid ways to describe it. “It smells like a thousand dogs have done their business in your yard,” says one local.
