Sunnyside Outrage Over Shopowners Who Keep But Don’t Feed Cats

There was a rally Saturday in Sunnyside, Queens, against a local 99-cent store and a National Liquidators for keeping cats but allegedly starving them so they'll catch more mice. One of the protesters rescued one of the cats and said he could barely open his eyes at first, but now, with a new owner, he's doing great. This so reminds us of a copyediting gig we had once with only a fifteen-minute paid lunch break. We feel you, cats … organize and picket! [NY1 via Queens Crap]
