Greenpoint and Cobble Hill: Same Great Poopy Smell, Two Different Sources!

11/7/08 at 1:45 PM

There is a foul smell in both Greenpoint and Cobble Hill. Granted, in Greenpoint, it's much worse and chronic, and emanates from the multi-onion-domed waste treatment plant, for which the city and state have just lain out a plan to bring up to ecocode. But Cobble Hill has had its own fecal fragrance lately, and it's from ginkgo nuts falling from trees, which elderly Asians in the hood have been picking up and putting in a special soup! So: two very different hoods sharing one poopy smell but for two very different reasons. That's New York! [Brownstoner and Gowanus Lounge]
