Hizzoner was in full ass-kicking mode yesterday during a press conference regarding Giants star Plaxico Burress's accidental self-shooting at a midtown club over the weekend. While the player himself was laughing over the incident, Mayor Bloomberg was enraged. Here's some of what he said:

"Our children are getting killed with guns in the streets. Our police officers are getting killed with guns in the hands of criminals. Because of that, we got the state legislature to pass a law that if you carry a loaded handgun, you get an automatic three-and-a-half years in the slammer. I don't think anybody should be exempt from that. I think it would be an outrage it we didn’t prosecute to the fullest extent of the law, particularly people who live in the public domain, who make their living because of their visibility. They are the role models for our kids."

Seriously, watch the video. The five-foot-six mayor looks tougher than ever, which is hilarious if you try to imagine him saying those things in the presence of the six-foot-five Burress. In that version, we imagine a lot more squeaking.
