Caroline Kennedy Is Alive, But Stays Quiet on Senate Controversy

Caroline Kennedy made an appearance last night at the opening of the new Fifth Avenue store of Giorgio Armani, who donated $1 million to the Fund for Public Schools, of which she's a vice-chairwoman. Of course, Kennedy wouldn't take questions about her confusing, mysterious withdrawal from consideration for Hillary Clinton's Senate seat, or the licking she took from Governor Paterson's office. She did, however, discuss the challenges of fund-raising for schools in this economic climate, noting that the Fund is "trying to be very careful about how we spend the money." And although Kennedy expressed some interest in someday attending one of Armani's shows, she says she's not getting a lot of Fashion Week invites. Well, sure. That's one consequence of falling off the face of the earth.
