Wealthy New Yorkers Beg to Be Taxed More

As a society, we've become so accustomed to getting outraged about planes and parties and bonuses that it's unclear if we've even retained the capacity to feel gratitude toward acts of selflessness. But we're going to have to assemble the opposite of a pitchfork mob — a cotton-candy mob? — for the 80 wealthy signatories of a letter to state leaders who are asking for their taxes to be raised to help ameliorate the budget crisis. And of course, we'll be glad to acquiesce to their wishes, to a greater degree than they ever intended. [Times Union]
