Isiah Thomas has agreed to a five-year contract with Florida International University to be its new head basketball coach. And while we can’t imagine he’ll be a terribly successful recruiter — he may have an eye for young talent, but really, what could he possibly say to a kid’s parents that would make them trust him? — that’s not our problem anymore. Because he’s finally, officially and permanently, not associated with the Knicks. At all. Hooray! [NYDN]
