Police Brutality, Pepper Spray at New School Shown on Video

  • 4/10/09 at 4:25 PM

This video, which is kind of hard to watch, speaks for itself. Even though police denied that they used pepper spray on protesting New School students, they very obviously did. At least two cops can be seen spraying small containers of fluid at students through a back door of the school. The camera then pulls away to catch a couple of students as they are tackled and aggressively handcuffed. One protester, who does not even appear to be fleeing but rather staying and protesting, is smacked to the ground by a cop wielding a riot helmet. At the end of the tape, videographer Brandon Jourdan himself is swatted away by police.
