After completing fourteen months of rehab for her heroin addiction, former Studio 54 club kid Shawn Kovell has been released on probation by a judge. Kovell was busted in late 2007 with her boyfriend, Robert Chambers, for selling cocaine out of their apartment. Chambers, of course, is better known to New Yorkers as the "Preppy Killer," who strangled young Jennifer Levin to death in Central Park. During the fifteen years he spent in prison for manslaughter, the pair remained an item, and they moved in together on the Upper East Side upon his release. According to the judge who authorized her parole, Kovell is still allowed to see Chambers (he's currently serving nineteen years for the drug charges). "She can go visit whoever she wishes," said State Supreme Court Judge Charles Solomon. The Times reporter covering the trial asked Kovell as she exited the courtroom whether she was still in love with Chambers. "Of course," she said. "After 22 years, I don’t love him any less than Day 1."
