Gadfly investor William Ackman made his case for launching a proxy battle against Target at a "town hall"-style meeting with the company's investors yesterday, during which he presented a "softer" front per the Post, referring to himself as "the underdog" in the fight and drawing a distinction between himself and certain mean, nasty corporate raiders. "I'm not Carl Icahn," he said. "I'm a very constructive, supportive investor in good and bad times." He will tell you you're fat, though, if he notices you start putting on the poundage.
