Despite a surprising amount of support from the media and the fact that their colleague Clifford Asness put his ass(ness) on the line to defend them, the "dissident" Chrysler lenders who were attempting to oppose the government-led sale of the company's assets to Fiat have dropped their fight.

"After a great deal of soul-searching and quite frankly agony, they concluded they just don't have critical mass to withstand the enormous pressure and machinery of the U.S. government," a lawyer representing the group told Bloomberg.

Wait, a great deal? We're sorry, but this fight has only been going on for what, a week? Freaking baby boomers. They'll talk your ear off about the sixties and fighting the man, and then the time actually comes and they roll right over.
