Some Weird Politics Are Afoot in Westchester

This intriguing family saga has been brewing for a while, but now it's official: Last night, Westchester county executive Andrew Spano announced that he would run for a fourth term — but first he'll face his own son, 50-year-old David Spano, in a primary. Odder still is that Spano the Younger will campaign on a platform of abolishing county government entirely, eliminating the position that he and his father are running for. Is he really the anti-government crusader he claims to be, or is he simply doing whatever it takes to spend more time with his inattentive dad? [LoHud.com via Daily Politics/NYDN]
