State Ethics Panel Would Rather Not Resign
nytimes.com
Members of the Public Integrity Commission, the state's ethics watchdog, are rebuffing Governor Paterson's calls for them to step down in response to a report from inspector general Joseph Fisch. Fisch found that as the board investigated Troopergate (the Spitzer administration's improper stalking of Joe Bruno's travel habits), Herbert Teitelbaum, the board's executive director, was leaking information to a Spitzer aide, and other members on the board knew about it. In other words, not ethical! Also, illegal. [NYT]
