A friend of Katie Lee Joel's provides some valuable insight into the great mystery of why she is divorcing from the man everyone thought was her true love, Billy Joel: age.
"The age difference didn't seem to be a big deal seven years ago [when they met], but it has become one as they got older," the source said. "They just grew apart."
Well, of course. When she was 20 and he was a fifty-fucking-three-year-old man, their relationship made perfect sense, because when she was bored he could just entertain her with rattles and shiny objects. But then she started talking back and staying out past curfew and talking about moving out and having a family of her own, and well, what was he going to do? Sigh. They just grow up so fast.
