There's a new wrinkle in the White House's constant meddling in the politics of New York. The Daily News has learned that, months ago, Rahm Emanuel tried to convince Long Island GOP congressman Peter King to accept the role of ambassador to Ireland, which, in addition to the recent appointment of upstate congressman John McHugh to secretary of the Army, would have left just one lonely, scared Republican in all of New York's congressional delegation.
