State Unimpressed by Students’ Math Skills

Third through eighth graders across New York State have achieved big gains in their math scores over last year's results, with 86 percent meeting the Board of Regents standards, compared to 81 in 2008. But instead of putting the scores up on the fridge and taking everyone out for ice cream or something, state officials, like the worst kind of parents, are saying the test was probably just too easy.
