It’s a Bad Week for Bridges

On Wednesday, a truck fire shut down the Manhattan Bridge for part of the afternoon. Today, early in the morning, a fire that started in scaffolding on the Throgs Neck Bridge expanded to burn parts of the span in both directions. According to the MTA, it will be shut down completely for an indefinite amount of time. [NYP]
