Republican Senator Calls for Paterson’s Impeachment

“I think anytime you are talking about willful violations of the Constitution for political purposes, as I believe the governor is doing, I think it’s a fair game to take a look at [impeachment]," Republican State Senator George Winner told reporters today. "I think the Assembly should take a look at it. This type of behavior I think is intolerable.” Of course, the Assembly definitely will not look at it, as Democrats are in firm control there. And the legality of Paterson's appointment hasn't even been heard by the courts yet. But keep the grandstanding coming; it's very helpful. [Daily Politics/NYDN]
