William Shatner Performs Intentionally Funny Version of Sarah Palin’s Resignation Speech

Sarah Palin’s resignation speech this weekend was notable not only for its tired, unoriginal warnings of the evils of the media, Hollywood, and big government, but also for the long, often grammatically infuriating passage describing the natural wonders of Alaska. Take this line, for example: “In the wintertime, it’s the frozen road that is competing with the view of ice-fogged frigid beauty. The cold, though, doesn’t it split the cheechakos from the sourdoughs?” That means nothing to us, but it does have a kind of poetic beauty to it regardless. Conan O’Brien had the same thought about the speech, and last night he had William Shatner recite some of it in that William Shatner delivery he’s used for the past 80 years or so.
