Through the years, Alec Baldwin has flirted with the thought of one day running for any number of political positions, including mayor, governor, congressman, and senator. But in a recent Playboy interview, he specifically mentioned the possibility of challenging independent senator Joe Lieberman, whom he has "no use for." Is Lieberman trembling at the thought of facing the actor, who doesn't even live in Connecticut yet? Hardly! On CNN yesterday, Lieberman, channeling the equally maverick-y Harry Callahan, said Baldwin could "you know, make my day." And then he laughed and laughed. "I respect Alec Baldwin as an actor and as a comedian," Lieberman added after regaining his composure. "If he wants to run, that's his right." You hear that, Alec? Joe Lieberman thinks you're funny, but the thought of you trying to defeat him in the realm of Serious People is even funnier.
