The City Is Forcing You to Commit Parking Violations Now

Finding a parking space in the city is always a nuisance, and usually when you think you've spotted one there's some catch that dashes your hopes — there's a fire hydrant (pshh, as if there's actually going to be a fire), or a motorcycle you didn't see, etc. Even more frustrating is that when you finally do find a legitimate space — at last, hooray! — there's a chance that while you're parked, the city will uproot nearby diplomat-only parking signs, move them to encompass your spot, tow your car away, and ticket you. And when a sympathetic onlooker defends you, he will be told by the tow-truck driver, "I don't give a fuck." [NYP]
